KOffice was the first office suite to embrace the OASIS OpenDocument Format that has now become an ISO standard, and the second to use it as the default format.
KOffice builds on the Qt toolkit and technology from the award-winning KDE desktop environment, the most widely used Linux desktop. It is widely regarded as the most flexible and customizable office suite, making it perfect for custom solutions centered round the OpenDocument Format.
The current stable version of KOffice is 1.6.3, which runs on Linux and other UNIX-based operating systems.
Next version, currently under development is version 2.0 which will also run on Windows and Mac OS X.
We expect KOffice 2.0 to be released near the end of the first quarter of 2008.
